All Aboard the Week 6 NCAAF Under Train

Toot! All aboard the UNDER train! Here’s a look at what Week 6 college football scores we’re predicting comes up short of betting market projections.

Thursday, October 4, 2018

Georgia State at Troy (-16)

UNDER 55

O/U Tip: The UNDER is 11-5-1 when Troy goes off a touchdown favorite or more against a Sun Belt foe all-time behind head coach Neal Brown. Opponents average 17.7 points per game. Projected score: 34-17.

Georgia Tech (-4.5) at Louisville

UNDER 59

O/U Tip: It might be best to pick the UNDER in the first half of this ACC clash. Louisville’s offense is historically bad. It’s scored 21 points total before halftime against four FBS opponents (Alabama, Western Kentucky, Virginia, and Florida State). The idea this unit will explode for points against a run-first team that hoards possessions is far-fetched.

Tulane at Cincinnati (-7)

UNDER 49.5

O/U Tip: Check out our written or video preview here.

Arizona State at No. 21 Colorado (-2.5)

UNDER 64

O/U Tip: The last time Colorado ranked in the AP Top 25, it got there via a strong defense. Five of seven during that run stayed south of the total for head coach Mike MacIntyre. Point prevention is the catalyst this time around as well. The Buffaloes yield 17.8 points per game and will have the thin air at their service.

San Diego State at Boise State (-14)

UNDER 52

O/U Tip: Since 2011, when the great Rocky Long took over coaching duties for San Diego State, the program has caught more than 8 points on the college football oddsboard 12 times. The UNDER is 8-3 overall with the Aztecs averaging 16.5 points per game.

Vanderbilt at No.2 Georgia (-26.5)

UNDER 54

O/U Tip: In the last 35 head-to-head meetings, Vanderbilt posts 16.3 points per game against Georgia. If the Commodores can hold the Bulldogs to fewer than 40 points, this bet has legs.

Maryland at No. 15 Michigan (-17.5)

UNDER 48

O/U Tip: Jim Harbaugh’s defense allows 9.3 points per game at Michigan Stadium all-time when laying more than a touchdown to Big Ten rivals. The average final score is 46.0 points.

Northwestern at No. 20 Michigan State (-10)

UNDER 44

O/U Tip: The winning team in four of the last five Big Ten matchups at Spartan Stadium have scored no more than 17 points. Must watch television? Not.

Navy (-3) at Air Force

UNDER 48

O/U Tip: The UNDER is 21-13 (61.8 percent) when Navy kicks off with a total of 51 or less in head coach Ken Niumatalolo’s tenure.

No. 13 Kentucky at Texas A&M (-5.5)

UNDER 50.5

O/U Tip: In the last decade, ranked teams catching points on the road to unranked conference foes have seen the UNDER cash in 36 of 62 contests (59.1 percent).

New Mexico at UNLV (-8)

UNDER 62

O/U Tip: Since the start of last year, the UNDER is 8-2 when UNLV clashes with a team averaging better than 4.0 yards per carry. The margin is 6.2 points below a 63.0 average total. New Mexico enters posting 4.1 yards per rushing attempt.
